The DAISSy research group of the National Academy of Sciences participates in the European project "Empower Girls' Creativity Through Use of Digital Technologies - SparkDigiGirls" which is funded by the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 - Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices/KA227 - Partnerships for Creativity and aims to empower girls' creativity through the use of digital technologies. The project runs from 1 May 2021 to 30 October 2023. The coordinating organisation is the Asociacija "Viesieji interneto prieigos taskai"(Rural Internet Access Points) (Lithuania) and the following partners are involved: Informaciniu Technologiju Instituta (Lithuania), DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (Greece), Instituto Politecnico de Tomar (Portugal) and Simbioza Genesis Social Entreprise (Slovenia).
The University of Nicosia, in collaboration with the Cyprus University of Technology and CARDET implement the Project “Migrant Information Center (MIC)” (CY/2020/AMIF/S02.N02.1.3/4), Immigrant Service Centers (MiHUB). The Project is co-financed by the Asylum, Immigration and Integration Fund and the Republic of Cyprus and is implemented for the period 15 December 2020 – 14 June 2022.

The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) welcomed on Monday (20/9), in Limassol, the Rectors of the eight European universities, from the same number of European countries, which form the "European University of Technology - EUt+" Alliance, in the framework of the "Limassol Week", which will take place from 20 to 24 September 2021.
In the context of Recommendation (EU) 2021/472 of the European Commission of 17 March 2021 on a common approach to the establishment of systematic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants in wastewater in the European Union, the International Water Research Center “Nireas” of the University of Cyprus signed the Friday 17 September 2021, an Agreement with the Water Development Department, in collaboration with the Department of Medical Sciences of the Ministry of Health, to enter into a Research Collaboration Agreement, with the aim of establishing a National Urban Wastewater Surveillance System in Cyprus and collecting data on SARS-CoV-2 and its variants in wastewater.
