Cyprus University of Technology: CUT welcomes the Rectors of the "European University of Technology Alliance - EUt+"
The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) welcomed on Monday (20/9), in Limassol, the Rectors of the eight European universities, from the same number of European countries, which form the "European University of Technology - EUt+" Alliance, in the framework of the "Limassol Week", which will take place from 20 to 24 September 2021.
The CUT is participating in the Alliance, together with 7 other Universities from Germany, France, Latvia, Ireland, Bulgaria, France, Latvia, Ireland, Spain and Romania, with the aim of creating a common European University of Technology, having as its central idea the slogan "Think human first" and aspiring to become one of the "Universities of the Future".
The Rectors' Meeting of the eight Universities of the Alliance will take place on Friday, 24 September at 09:00 - 10:30, at the "Drakos" building of the CUT, in the presence of the Director General of the Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission, Ms Themida Christofidou.
During the meeting, the "Limassol Agreement" will be signed, which provides, among other things, for the creation of an International Teams Coordination Office (ITCO) on each campus, the creation of the Erasmus EUt+ Office and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the creation of clusters of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes. A series of actions and events will take place in the framework of the "Limassol Week", focusing on the organisation of three public debates which will take place at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol on 21, 23 and 24 September, from 11:00 to 13:00.
The first public debate titled "EUt+: A beacon of equal opportunities for all" will take place on 21 September, with the participation of the President of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Ms. Maria Stylianou-Lottidis, the Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Gender Issues, Ms. Josie Christodoulou, the Associate Professor at the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science of CUT, Dr. Dimitris Tsaltas and the postgraduate student George Panagiotou. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Christiana Kouta, Associate Professor at the Department of Nursing of CUT.
The second debate titled "EUt+: Boosting European Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship" will take place on 23 September, with the participation of the Deputy Minister of State for Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Mr.Kyriakos Kokkinos, the Chief Scientist for Research and Innovation, Mr. Mr. Nicolas Mastrogiannopoulos, the CEO of PwC Cyprus Mr. Eugenios Eugeniou, the CEO of Theramir, Ms. Marianna Prokopis, the CEO of LearnWorlds Mr. Panos Siozos, the CEO of SignalGeneriX Mr. Tasos Koounoudis and the CEO of Metabeta Mr. Marius Ursache. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Nikolas Tsapatsoulis, Professor at the Department of Public Communication of the CUT and Dr. Stelios Yatros, Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Geoinformatics Engineering of the CUT.
The third public debate titled "EUt+: Designing the future of higher education in Europe" will take place on 24 September, with the participation of the Director-General of the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission, Ms. Themida Christofidou, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, Mr Prodromos Prodromos, the Director of the University of Technology of Troyes, Mr Pierre Koch and the Rector of TEΠAK, Professor Panagiotis Zafiris. The debate will be moderated by the EUt Coordinator Mr. Timothee Toury.
During the "Limassol Week", on 23 September, the International Teams Coordination Office (ITCO) will be inaugurated in the new "Drakos" teaching building by the Rectors of the Eight Universities and the Director General of the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission, Mrs. The new corporate image of EUt+ will also be presented and training will be provided on its implementation.
During the events, all applicable health protocols and protection measures against Covid-19 will be observed. Only those who have a certificate of vaccination or disease infection, in accordance with the health protocol applied at the CUT, will participate in the events, based on the decision of the Senate on the mode of operation of the University during the current semester, dated 24 August 2021.

Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου: Το ΤΕΠΑΚ υποδέχεται τους Πρυτάνεις της Συμμαχίας του «Ευρωπαϊκού Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου - EUt+»
Το Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου (ΤΕΠΑΚ) υποδέχτηκε τη Δευτέρα (20/9), στη Λεμεσό, τους Πρυτάνεις των οκτώ ευρωπαϊκών πανεπιστημίων, από ισάριθμες ευρωπαϊκές χώρες, που αποτελούν τη Συμμαχία του «Ευρωπαϊκού Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου - EUt+», στο πλαίσιο της «Εβδομάδας Λεμεσού», η οποία θα πραγματοποιηθεί από τις 20 έως τις 24 Σεπτεμβρίου 2021.
Στη Συμμαχία συμμετέχει και το ΤΕΠΑΚ, μαζί με άλλα επτά Πανεπιστήμια από τη Γερμανία, τη Γαλλία, τη Λετονία, την Ιρλανδία, τη Βουλγαρία, την Ισπανία και τη Ρουμανία, με σκοπό τη δημιουργία ενός κοινού Ευρωπαϊκού Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου, έχοντας ως κεντρική ιδέα το σλόγκαν «Think human first» και φιλοδοξώντας να καταστεί ένα από τα «Πανεπιστήμια του Μέλλοντος».
Η Σύνοδος των Πρυτάνεων των οκτώ Πανεπιστημιών της Συμμαχίας θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Παρασκευή, 24 Σεπτεμβρίου και ώρα 09:00 – 10:30, στο κτήριο «Δράκος» του ΤΕΠΑΚ, στην παρουσία της Γενικής Διευθύντριας της Γενικής Διεύθυνσης Παιδείας, Νεολαίας, Αθλητισμού και Πολιτισμού της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής, κ. Θέμιδας Χριστοφίδου.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της Συνόδου, θα υπογραφεί η «Συμφωνία της Λεμεσού», η οποία προβλέπει, μεταξύ άλλων, τη δημιουργία Γραφείου Συντονισμού Διεθνών Ομάδων (International Teams Coordination Office - ITCO) σε κάθε Πανεπιστημιούπολη, τη δημιουργία του Γραφείου Erasmus EUt+ και την υπογραφή Συμφώνου Συναντίληψης για τη δημιουργία συστάδων Προπτυχιακών και Μεταπτυχιακών Προγραμμάτων.
Στο πλαίσιο της «Εβδομάδας Λεμεσού» θα πραγματοποιηθούν μια σειρά από δράσεις και εκδηλώσεις, με επίκεντρο τη διοργάνωση τριών δημόσιων συζητήσεων οι οποίες θα λάβουν χώρα στο θέατρο Ριάλτο της Λεμεσού στις 21, 23 και 24 Σεπτεμβρίου, από τις 11:00 μέχρι τις 13:00.
Η πρώτη δημόσια συζήτηση με τίτλο «EUt+: A beacon of equal opportunities for all» θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 21 Σεπτεμβρίου, με τη συμμετοχή της Προέδρου της Βουλής των Αντιπροσώπων, κ. Αννίτας Δημητρίου, της Επίτροπου Διοικήσεως και Προστασίας Ανθρωπίνων Δικαιωμάτων κ. Μαρίας Στυλιανού-Λοττιδη, της Συμβούλου του Υπουργού Εξωτερικών σε θέματα Φύλου κ. Τζόσι Χριστοδούλου, του Αναπληρωτή Καθηγητή στο Τμήμα Γεωπονικών Επιστημών, Βιοτεχνολογίας και Επιστήμης Τροφίμων του ΤΕΠΑΚ, Δρ Δημήτρη Τσάλτα και του μεταπτυχιακού φοιτητή Γιώργου Παναγιώτου. Τη συζήτηση θα συντονίζει η Αναπληρώτρια Καθηγήτρια στο Τμήμα Νοσηλευτικής του ΤΕΠΑΚ, Δρ Χριστιάνα Κούτα.
Η δεύτερη συζήτηση με τίτλο «EUt+: Boosting European Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship» θα διεξαχθεί στις 23 Σεπτεμβρίου, με τη συμμετοχή του Υφυπουργού Έρευνας, Καινοτομίας και Ψηφιακής Πολιτικής κ. Κυριάκου Κόκκινου, του Επικεφαλής Επιστήμονα για Έρευνα και Καινοτομία κ. Νικόλα Μαστρογιαννόπουλου, του Διευθύνοντος Συμβούλου της PwC Cyprus κ. Ευγένιου Ευγενίου, της Διευθύνουσας Συμβούλου της Theramir, κ. Μαριάννας Προκόπη, του Διευθύνοντος Σύμβουλου της LearnWorlds κ. Πάνου Σιώζου, του Διευθύνοντος Συμβούλου της SignalGeneriX κ. Τάσου Κουνούδη και του Διευθύνοντος Συμβούλου της Metabeta κ. Marius Ursache. Τη συζήτηση θα συντονίζουν ο Καθηγητής του Τμήματος Δημόσιας Επικοινωνίας του ΤΕΠΑΚ Δρ Νικόλας Τσαπατσούλης και ο Επίκουρος Καθηγητής στο Τμήμα Πολιτικών Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Γεωπληροφορικής του ΤΕΠΑΚ Δρ Στέλιος Γιατρός.
Η τρίτη δημόσια συζήτηση με τίτλο «EUt+: Designing the future of higher education in Europe» θα διεξαχθεί στις 24 Σεπτεμβρίου, με τη συμμετοχή της Γενικής Διευθύντριας της Γενικής Διεύθυνσης Παιδείας, Νεολαίας, Αθλητισμού και Πολιτισμού της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής, κ. Θέμιδας Χριστοφίδου, του Υπουργού Παιδείας, Πολιτισμού, Αθλητισμού και Νεολαίας κ. Πρόδρομου Προδρόμου, του Διευθυντή του Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου της γαλλικής πόλης Τρουά κ. Pierre Koch και του Πρύτανη του ΤΕΠΑΚ, Καθηγητή Παναγιώτη Ζαφείρη. Τη συζήτηση θα συντονίζει ο Συντονιστής του EUt κ. Timothee Toury.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της «Εβδομάδας Λεμεσού», στις 23 Σεπτεμβρίου, θα γίνουν τα εγκαίνια του Γραφείου Συντονισμού Διεθνών Ομάδων (International Teams Coordination Office - ITCO) στο νέο κτήριο διδασκαλίας «Δράκος» από τους Πρυτάνεις των Οκτώ Πανεπιστημίων και από τη Γενική Διευθύντρια της Γενικής Διεύθυνσης Παιδείας, Νεολαίας, Αθλητισμού και Πολιτισμού της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής, κ. Θέμιδας Χριστοφίδου.Θα παρουσιαστεί, επίσης, η νέα εταιρική εικόνα του EUt+ και θα γίνει σχετική εκπαίδευση στην εφαρμογή της.
Κατά τη διάρκεια των εκδηλώσεων θα τηρούνται όλα τα ισχύοντα υγειονομικά πρωτόκολλα και τα μέτρα προστασίας έναντι της νόσου Covid – 19. Στις εκδηλώσεις θα συμμετέχουν μόνο όσοι κατέχουν πιστοποιητικό εμβολιασμού ή νόσησης από τη νόσο, σύμφωνα και με το υγειονομικό Πρωτόκολλο που εφαρμόζεται στο ΤΕΠΑΚ, με βάση την απόφαση της Συγκλήτου για τον τρόπο λειτουργίας του Πανεπιστημίου κατά το τρέχον εξάμηνο, ημερομηνίας 24 Αυγούστου 2021.
