The Cyprus Institute: Visit by the Executive Director of ALIPH and Ambassador in Charge of International Cooperation in the Field of Heritage

On Thursday, 25th of November 2021, Mr Valery Freland, Executive Director of ALIPH (Alliance Internationale pour la Protection du Patrimoine Dans les Zones de Conflit), Mr Jean-Luc Martinez, Ambassador in charge of International Cooperation in the field of Heritage, and Former President/Director of the Louvre Museum from 2013 to 2021, and Mr Emmanuel Mouriez, representative from the French Embassy, visited CyI’s premises in Athalassa.

Cyprus University of Technology: UNESCO Headquarters in Digital Cultural Heritage welcomes European Commission decision on Common European Cultural Heritage Database

The European Commission publishes a recommendation on a common European cultural heritage data area. The aim is to accelerate the digitization of all monuments, sites, objects and cultural heritage artifacts for future generations, to protect and preserve those at risk and to enhance their re-use in areas such as education, sustainable tourism and cultural creation.

University of Cyprus: The Award of the Cyprus National Commission UNESCO to the Archeology Research Unit of the University of Cyprus

The Award of the Cyprus National Commission UNESCO, for best student short documentary project, on the cultural and natural heritage of Cyprus, was awarded to the Archaeology Research Unit (Group 2) of the University of Cyprus, for the film "Abandoned countryside: Examining the case of Fikardos", within the Department of Cinexeducation of the 4th Archaeological Ethnographic and Historical Festival Cyprus that was organized on the 13th and 14th November 2021.

A research article by Dr. Michalis Michaelidis, of the Department of Psychology, was awarded the Richard M. Wolf Memorial Award for outstanding paper by the International Association for the Evaluation of Education achievement (IEA).
