The University of Cyprus (UCY) has officially become a YERUN (Young European Research Universities Network) member since July 1, 2021.
The Open University of Cyprus was a member of the consortium that has implemented the project eSLP, funded under the Erasmus+ Programme (Key Action 3: Support for Policy Reform – Initiatives for Policy Innovation – “Forward Looking Cooperation Projects”). The Project, which has recently ended, was coordinated by the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU).
The establishment and strengthening of the joint actions and initiatives between the University of Cyprus, the European Commission and Parliament, is further improved with the working of the Centre «Europe Direct Nicosia – University of Cyprus», that was launch on 5th July 2021 in the Information Centre Library «Stelios Ioannou» at the Campus.
The International and Interdisciplinary Conference "Cultural Heritage for Social Responsibility: Bridging Universities and Communities" to be held on August 31-September 2, 2021, is organised in the context of the EU_CUL project ("Exploring European Cultural Heritage for fostering academic teaching and social responsibility in Higher Education", which is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.
The Open University of Cyprus (OUC), the country’s university dedicated to open and distance education, participates in the implementation of the European project “CYberSafety III”, which is funded by the Connective Europe Facility (CEF) Programme, and focuses on strengthening the culture for safer use of the Internet in Cyprus from an early age.
