An important step for Cyprus to have a say and a role in the initiative of European Universities was achieved during the work of the EU-CONEXUS consortium, in which the Rector of Frederick University, Professor George Demosthenous participated as a member of the Supreme Executive Council of the consortium. The work took place in the French city of La Rochelle where the Rector participated in the dialogue on the future and continuation of the consortium, which focuses on training and research for the intelligent sustainable management of urban coastal areas.
The innovation project “EnergyXchange” envisions to facilitate the introduction of the new liberalized energy market for the benefit of all stakeholders. It aims to conduct industrial research to develop and evaluate a novel product, a software platform, which integrates state-of-the-air intelligent monitoring methods and big-data analytics, produced in academic research. This in turn will facilitate the introduction of energy stakeholders to the new liberalized energy maker, enabling them to make energy contracts tailored to their generation/supply/demand profile and maximize their profit.
An International interdisciplinary Conference for the study of Multiscale Physical and Biological Systems using supercomputers was held with great success in Paphos, between the 22nd and the 26th of November 2021. The Conference was organised in the context of the European Joint Doctorate project STIMULATE (SimulaTIon in MUltiscaLe physicAl and biological sysTEms), which is coordinated by The Cyprus Institute, and a Doctoral project funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation, coordinated by the University of Cyprus.
The Protocol was signed by the Rector of CUT, Professor Panagiotis Zafeiris and the President of the Institute, His Eminence Metropolitan of Tamassos and Mountains Mr. Isaias, in a special ceremony held on Tuesday, November 30, at CUT.
On Tuesday 23.10.2020, at 12.00 p.m. a meeting was held at Neapolis University Pafos between the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic Mr. Ioannis Papameletiou, the Consul General Mrs. Athena Papageorgiou and the Rectorate and Administration of the University, represented by Mr. George Leptos, Chairman of the Board, Prof. Pantelis Sklias, Rector and Mr. Andreas Moleskis, Director of Administration and Finance.
