On 27 January 2021, CyI’s STARC/APAC, in collaboration with the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Italy) and Hypertech S.A. (Greece), organised the kick off meeting for the EU Stop Illicit Heritage Trafficking with Artificial Intelligence (SIGNIFICANCE) project.
In the latest evaluation results for the highly competitive and prestigious “Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions” (MSCA) programme announced in February 2021, an unprecedented four proposals in the “Individual Fellowships” (IF) category were selected for funding, and will be hosted at the Cyprus Institute (CyI) over the next few years.
Researchers from the Mobile Multimedia Lab (MMLab) of the Department of Informatics - AUEB achieved the admission of 2 papers in the top conference in Computer Communications IEEE International Conference on Computer Communication (IEEE INFOCOM), to be held in May 2021.
The University of Cyprus has secured funding of € 3.7 million from the EU Horizon 2020 Programme for Research and Innovation and the MSCA-COFUND action. The project involves the implementation of fifty (50) multidisciplinary-interdisciplinary research projects (two-year duration courses) in which excellent postdoctoral researchers will be employed.
The School of Medicine of the European University Cyprus (EUC) and the Innovation Centre CERIDES – Excellence in Innovation and Technology, in collaboration with the Health Services of the Ministry of Health in Cyprus and the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Actions, launched a national volunteer initiative in November 2020 to actively support all nursing homes and long-term care facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic in Cyprus.
