In the context of their cooperation, Professor Petros Pashiardis, Rector of OUC, and Mr. Christopher Christodoulides, OUC Director of Administration and Finance, had a meeting on June 14, 2021 in Athens, with Professor Odysseas-Ioannis Zoras, President of the Hellenic Open University.
Professor Edna Yamasaki and Dr. Constantinos Hadjistassou are participating in the newly approved COST Action (COST 20130) titled «European MIC Network – New paths for science, sustainability and standards», as part of an interdisciplinary and collaborative European research network tasked with promoting exchange between academia and industry.
The Open University of Cyprus (OUC), the MA Programme in “Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning” and the Research Network for Adult Educators, Trainers and their Professionalisation (ReNAdET) of ERSEA (European Society for Research on the Education of Adults) co-organize, online, the 7th International Conference entitled “Adult Educators in Time of Crisis: Well-Being, Changes in Identity and Professional Practice in European Adult Education”.
On the 1st of December 2020 a new Erasmus+ project launched with the ambition to motivate people to become active citizens of their communities and to build on the existing teaching practices, improve the related tools and approaches. The Training Material for Global Citizenship Education (GCE) in Rural Areas project will combine the know-how and expertise of organizations from 6 European countries – the UK, Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Spain and the Netherlands.
The Cyprus Institute (CyI) has joined, as a partner, the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative, which is the flagship cultural initiative of the European Commission for the implementation of the Green Deal for urban environments. The partnership will be coordinated by the CyI Innovation and Entrepreneurship Office, to enable the required cross-disciplinary engagement of its research centres under the common NEB framework.
