The European Commission has adopted a positive assessment of Cyprus's recovery and resilience plan. This is an important step towards the EU disbursing a total of €1.2 billion in grants and loans under the Recovery and Resilience Facility.
Science-based climate change mitigation and adaptation policies were discussed by international groups of scientists, policy-makers and regional experts during a virtual seminar organized by The Cyprus Institute in the context of the Cyprus Government’s Eastern Mediterranean & Middle East Climate Change Initiative, for coordinating climate action in the region.
The President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Anastasiadis and the President of the European Commission, Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen visited the University on Thursday, July 8 where the handover ceremony of the Approval of the Recovery and Sustainability Plan for Cyprus took place.
The Cyprus Institute, through its Innovation and Entrepreneurship Office will contribute horizontally towards the completion of all the tasks of the project with particular focus on the formation of the processes and policies needed for the scouting and creation of start-ups, as well as the training and mentoring of young entrepreneurs, who are addressing with disruptive solutions the more pressing SDG challenges.
