Cyprus University of Technology: The new programming period of Europe Direct Limassol was inaugurated

The work carried out for eight years by the Europe Direct Limassol Information Centre was praised by the delegation of the European Commission and the European Parliament Office in Cyprus, during the inauguration ceremony of the new programming period (2021 - 2025), which took place on 28 September 2021.

The Cyprus Institute: Recapturing the Spirit of the Old Nicosia Airport - The NIC Project

During the months of June and July 2021, a team of The Cyprus Institute, composed by researchers from the Science and Technology in Archaeology and Culture Research Center (STARC) and the Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C), and with the support of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), completed the full digitization of the former Nicosia International Airport, today located in the buffer zone and inaccessible.

Open University of Cyprus: Important distinction for the Balkan Road research project: Candidate of the Regio Stars 2021 awards for the best cohesion policy projects

The research project "Towards Farms with Zero carbon-waste- and water- footprint. Roadmap for Sustainable Management Strategies for Balkan Agriculture" (acronym: Balkan Road) was nominated as one of the five (5) projects for the Smart Europe category of the RegioStars 2021 awards.

Signing of Memoranda of Understanding between the Center of Excellence of the University of Cyprus, the Municipality of Larnaca and the Larnaca Water Supply and Sewerage Councils

Memoranda of Understanding were signed on Tuesday, 28 September 2021 between the Center of Excellence for Research and Innovation "KIOS" of the University of Cyprus, the Municipality of Larnaca and the Councils of Larnaca Water Supply and Sewerage of Larnaca, aiming at the digital and green development of the city of Larnaca, in order to be able to address and manage more effectively the challenges of climate change.
