European University Cyprus: The University participates in the project Right to Connect Now: digital inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities

The European University Cyprus, through its Centre of Excellence in Research and Innovation in Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, SoScieAtH, participates as a partner in the two-year project Right to Connect: digital inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities, which is co-funded by the European Union as an Erasmus+ programme.

AMX DATA: using Big Data and artificial intelligence (AI) tools for early cancer detection

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is thesecondleading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, with 1.93 million new cases diagnosed in 2020 and 48% mortality rate. Most of these deaths could have been prevented by increasing the use of recommended screening tests. CRC has a 5-year survival rate of 90% if diagnosed in Stage I but only 14% if diagnosed in Stage IV.

The cooperation memorandum was signed by the Rector of the European University of Cyprus, Prof. Andreas Efstathiou, and the President of the Interstellar Institute, His Eminence Metropolitan Isaia of Tamasos and Orinis.
