Termination of cooperation with Russian public entities in research and education

On 8 April 2022, the European Commission asked services to terminate ongoing grant agreements and subsequent payments to Russian public bodies or related organisations as part of the Research and Innovation Framework Programmes, Euratom and the Erasmus+ programme.

Following the escalation of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, and in line with the sanctions taken to date, European Commissioner Mariya Gabriel has announced further measures concerning

• the participation of Russian public entities and individuals in the Research and Innovation Framework Programmes and Euratom
• the participation of Russian public entities in Erasmus+
