The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the Erasmus Mundus programme and participating Higher Education Institutions, students and scholars. Therefore, the European Commission and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) put in place several measures to support Erasmus Mundus consortia.

The Commission continues its work to support women in achieving their goals and pushes for greater equality between women and men through its EU Gender Equality Strategy.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, digital education has become a key political priority across the European Union (EU). The Digital Education Stakeholder Forum is the first major European event on digital education organised by the Commission in this new context.
