On 6 May, with the support of the Commission, social economy organisations, impact investors, microfinance providers, ethical and cooperative banks, vocational education and training providers, as well as regions, set up a large-scale partnership for skills development in the Proximity and Social Economy industrial ecosystem.
The COST programme connects researchers and innovators from the countries neighbouring full COST Members. These countries are known as COST Near Neighbour Countries (NNC) and include Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Russia*, Syria, and Tunisia.
The Commission adopted a renewed Strategy for the most remote parts of the EU, the so-called outermost regions, aiming to unlock their potential through appropriate investment and reforms.
On Europe Day, the Presidents of the European Parliament, Commission and Council received the final report with proposals to reform the EU.
On 4 May, the Commission announced the five selected projects for the €25 million call for the development of ‘lighthouse demonstrators' of the New European Bauhaus (NEB). The Commission is currently negotiating grant agreements with the selected beneficiaries.
