New projects to enrich the AI-on-demand platform
Six projects have been selected to enrich the EU’s AI-on-demand platform, initiated by the AI4EU project, following a call launched in May 2019 to bring together expertise to establish a central European AI toolbox.

Survey - Local and Regional Digital Indicators
In order to promote digital transformation and the scaling up of digital innovation in cities and communities, the European Commission, the European Committee of the Regions and ESPON would like to better understand what different actors are doing, what works, what does not and why. The LORDI (Local and Regional Digital Indicators) framework plays an important role in this effort.

European Innovation Council Fund: first equity investments of €178 million in breakthrough innovations
The Commission has announced the first round of direct equity investment through the new European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund. 42 highly innovative start-ups and small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) will together receive equity financing of around €178 million to develop and scale up breakthrough innovations in health, circular economy, advanced manufacturing and other areas.

Coronavirus response and recovery: EU support for regions to work together in innovative pilot projects
The Commission has announced the winners of a new EU-funded initiative for interregional partnerships in four areas: coronavirus-related innovative solutions, circular economy in health, sustainable and digital tourism, and hydrogen technologies in carbon–intensive regions.
