On 21 May, was European Natura 2000 Day and the LIFE programme’s birthday. To mark both occasions, LIFE held a ceremony in the heart of Brussel’s Sonian Forest – a Natura 2000 Special Area of Conservation.
The European Commission launched a dialogue on the protection of journalists in the EU with a wide range of stakeholders, including journalists and their associations, news media companies, representatives of media councils, European Parliament, Member States and regulatory authorities as well as international partners.
This first EIC Transition calls are focusing on results generated by EIC Pathfinder pilot projects and European Research Council Proof of Concept projects, to mature the technologies and build a business case for specific applications.
EU efforts to promote practical moves towards decarbonising the EU’s islands have taken a further step forward today with the sixth Clean energy for EU islands forum. Bringing together representatives from local authorities on many of the EU’s islands, the two-day event is aiming to outline progress that is being made and showcase ongoing and completed clean energy projects on islands.
The Commission is asking for feedback from interested parties on the draft rules governing a new platform to encourage the transfer of renewable energy statistics between Member States - called the new Union Renewable Development Platform (URDP). The feedback period runs until 27 May 2021 (midnight, Brussels time).
