The second call of the European City Facility (EUCF) closed on 31st May, counting a total of 221 applications from all across Europe. The highest number of applications in the 2nd call came from Southern Europe (40%) followed by Central and Eastern Europe (37%) and Nordic countries & Western Europe (23%).
The Council approved conclusions on a renovation wave that repairs the economy now, and creates green buildings for the future. The renovation wave strategy aims to intensify renovation efforts throughout the EU, in order to make the necessary contribution by the buildings sector to the 2050 climate neutrality goal and to deliver a fair and just green transition.
