A high-level expert group was established by the European Commission in Feb 2021 to explore the needs, gaps and options to strengthen the international science- policy interface for food systems transformation.
The European Commission welcomed the 28 new grant agreements that have been signed under the Euratom Research and Training Programme 2021-2022. Next to this, the Commission also launched the co-funded new European Partnership for research in radiation protection and detection of ionising radiation, PIANOFORTE, aiming towards a safer use and improved protection of the people and of the environment, which will also receive funding from the 2021 call for proposals.

Thanks to the first Just Transition Fund (JTF) Programme adopted by the Commission on 16 June, Greece will mobilise a total investment of €1.63 billion to alleviate the impact of the energy and climate transition on the local economy and society. The Greek plan will benefit from grants amounting to €1.38 billion from the JTF.
