The ERC Synergy Grants 2022 call closed for applications on 10 November 2021.
The European Commission is looking for the best innovative ideas to advance the protection and restoration of soils in Europe and beyond. The deadline to apply is 24 March.
As of December 2021, Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Turkey have applicable association agreements in place. Association agreements have also been signed with Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo* and Ukraine. They are currently undergoing national ratification procedures and are expected to enter into force shortly.
The Commission has proposed to establish the next generation of own resources for the EU budget by putting forward three new sources of revenue: the first based on revenues from emissions trading (ETS), the second drawing on the resources generated by the proposed EU carbon border adjustment mechanism, and the third based on the share of residual profits from multinationals that will be re-allocated to EU Member States under the recent OECD/G20 agreement on a re-allocation of taxing rights (“Pillar One”).
On 17 December 2021, The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine hosted a Research and innovation day that included sessions on European Research Area integration, research infrastructures development, open science implementation and open innovations. It also dealt with expanding Ukraine’s participation in the international research and innovation programs, such as the COST Programme.
