University of Nicosia: Quadripartite Collaboration to Enhance the Field of Cosmic Space

University of Nicosia, Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Cyprus Office of the Russian Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo, and the Creative Universe Foundation to sign Cooperation Agreement.

A quadripartite Cooperation Agreement will be signed on campus this coming Tuesday, 8 February 2022, between the University of Nicosia, Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Cyprus Office of Russian Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo, and the Vyacheslav Zarenkov Creative Universe Foundation.

The Cooperation Agreement between the parties underscores their common interest in the field of cosmic space and reflects their commitment to cooperate on a range of issues relating to the education, research, promotion, and exploration of cosmic space. To this end, the MoU includes, amongst others: technology transfer; faculty, staff, and student exchange; educational and outreach activities; as well as research collaboration.

To mark the commencement of the collaboration, the President of the Creative Universe Foundation, Dr. Vyacheslav Adamovich Zarenkov, has donated a bust of the outstanding Soviet scientist and designer of rocket and space systems, Sergey Pavlovich Korolev, to the University of Nicosia. The bust, which was commissioned to Russian sculptor Andrei Tyrtyshnikov, will be unveiled at the Research and Technology Building of the University on the day.

The event will take place at the Research and Technology Building of the University of Nicosia, on 8 February 2022 at 11:00 am, featuring brief addresses by the signing parties, including a welcome address by Professor Panayiotis Angelides, UNIC Vice Rector for Academic Affairs. The Counsellor of the Embassy of Russian Federation in Cyprus, Sergey Lagutenko, will also deliver an address, signifying this important joint step into cosmic space exploration.
