EU Industry Days 2022: Research and innovation for strong EU industrial ecosystems on their green and digital pathways

Industrial research and innovation will be addressed as a key topic at the upcoming EU Industry Days 2022, which will run from 8 to 11 February.

On 9 February at 13:00 Commissioner Mariya Gabriel will address the importance of investing in research and innovation for Europe's industry to lead the green transition during a keynote speech. It will be followed from 13:15 to 14:00 by a spotlight session moderated by Director-General Jean-Eric Paquet on R&D investment and EU green technologies leadership.

The role of R&I in the EU industrial transition pathways, including in energy-intensive industries, will be discussed during the following sessions:

• 8 February, 14:00 - 15:00 : “Towards a resilient, innovative, sustainable and digital energy-intensive industries ecosystem”
• 9 February, 10:15 - 11:15: “A blueprint for driving the EU Industrial Transition”
• 10 February, 11:15 - 12:15: Plenary session: “Industrial Forum and transition pathways”

Due to the current sanitary restrictions, the 2022 edition will have a hybrid format, bringing together thousands of participants joining the conference online and a limited number of onsite speakers.
