Cyprus University of Technology: Results of bibliographic review of the Erasmus+ SAVE project in which CUT participates
The results of the literature review of the European Programme ERASMUS+ 'SAVE'– Screening for Abuse Victims Among Elderly ", in which the Department of Nursing of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) participates, are included in a report entitled" What we know about the detection of abuse in the elderly : Results of the SAVE program literature review ".
The purpose of the literature review was to investigate the number and quality of tools for detecting elder abuse.
Thirty-seven tools for detecting elder abuse are reported in the international literature, differing in the purpose, method, and form of abuse they detect.
Although detection is an important tool for detecting or suspecting abuse, the review has shown quite strong arguments both for and against detection. The degree of reliability and validity of the detection tools and the possible negative consequences of the detection are important factors that must be taken into account when considering the implementation of detection programmes.

Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου: Αποτελέσματα βιβλιογραφικής ανασκόπησης του έργου Erasmus+ SAVE στο οποίο συμμετέχει το ΤΕΠΑΚ
Τα αποτελέσματα της βιβλιογραφικής ανασκόπησης του Ευρωπαϊκού Προγράμματος ERASMUS+ ‘SAVE’– Screening for Abuse Victims Among Elderly”, στο οποίο συμμετέχει το Τμήμα Νοσηλευτικής του Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου (ΤΕΠΑΚ), περιλαμβάνονται σε έκθεση με τίτλο «Τι γνωρίζουμε για την ανίχνευση της κακοποίησης στους ηλικιωμένους: Αποτελέσματα της βιβλιογραφικής ανασκόπησης του προγράμματος SAVE».
Σκοπός της βιβλιογραφικής ανασκόπησης ήταν η διερεύνηση του αριθμού και της ποιότητας των εργαλείων ανίχνευσης της κακοποίησης ηλικιωμένων ατόμων.
Στη διεθνή βιβλιογραφία αναφέρονται τριάντα επτά εργαλεία ανίχνευσης της κακοποίησης ηλικιωμένων που διαφέρουν ως προς το σκοπό, τη μέθοδο και τη μορφή κακοποίησης που ανιχνεύουν.
Παρόλο που η ανίχνευση είναι ένα σημαντικό εργαλείο για τον εντοπισμό ή τη δημιουργία υποψίας για κακοποίηση, η ανασκόπηση έχει δείξει αρκετά δυνατά επιχειρήματα τόσο υπέρ όσο και κατά της ανίχνευσης. Ο βαθμός αξιοπιστίας και εγκυρότητας των εργαλείων ανίχνευσης και οι πιθανές αρνητικές συνέπειες της ανίχνευσης, είναι σημαντικοί παράγοντες που πρέπει να ληφθούν υπόψη όταν σκεφτόμαστε την εφαρμογή προγραμμάτων ανίχνευσης.
