The 16th edition of EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) took place the week of 25-29 October under the theme ‘Towards 2030: Reshaping the European energy system’.
As last year, EUSEW was a primarily virtual event centred around a 4-day policy conference with more than 30 different sessions. Guest speakers in the course of the week included the UN’s Achim Steiner and the climatologist Jean-Pascal van Ypersele. In addition to these there were 40 “energy talks” and an online networking village. Thursday was designated European Youth Energy Day. There are also more than 100 related events taking place around the EU in the course of September and October.
The main aim of EUSEW is to bring together public authorities, private companies, NGOs and consumers to promote initiatives to save energy and move towards renewables for clean, secure and efficient power. This year’s format allows participants for digital networking and stands. More than 3000 people have already registered for the week.
The programme highlights included:
But also a variety of topics like green hydrogen, Bauhaus, electromobility, energy poverty, global and local Green Deal, digitalisation, offshore renewable energy, etc
