Τhe Open University of Cyprus is participating in the European project PULCHRA – Science in the City

Τhe Open University of Cyprus (OUC) and the Chemical Engineering & Engineering Sustainability Lab, led by Associate Professor Antonis Zorpas, are members of the consortium which implements the research project Pulchra - Science in the City.

The project involves 52 schools from 12 different European countries, aiming to inform, raise awareness and involve stakeholders in science education / community.

OUC researchers offer their support and guidance to the students of 5 Cypriot #schools,that participate in the project, for the implementation of its actions, which are related to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

• Apeition Gymnasium and Lyceum  Agrou: Re - use - Re - birth… ahead of waste!

• Lyceum Ethnomartyra Kyprianou, Strovolos: Urban revival: we go the green way.

• Lyceum of Paralimni: Renovation of space - Innovative actions

• Lyceum Foti Pitta, Frenaros: I study the present I prepare the future

Here in the article entitled "Students explore cities as urban ecosystem in collaboration with communities and experts", some of the actions of the participants and the activities of the project are presented.

Το ΑΠΚΥ, συμμετέχει στο ευρωπαϊκό έργο Pulchra - Science in the City

Το ΑΠΚΥ, συμμετέχει στο ευρωπαϊκό έργο Pulchra - Science in the City, με επικεφαλής τον Αντώνη Ζορπά, Αναπληρωτή Καθηγητή στο Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα «Διαχείριση και Προστασία Περιβάλλοντος» και επιστημονικό υπεύθυνο του Εργαστηρίου Χημικής Μηχανικής και Μηχανικής Αειφορίας του ΑΠΚΥ.

Στο έργο συμμετέχουν 52 σχολεία από 12 διαφορετικές χώρες της Ευρώπης, με κοινό όραμα, να ενημερώσουν, να ευαισθητοποιήσουν και να εντάξουν ενδιαφερόμενα μέρη και συμμετέχοντες στις δράσεις και στην επιστημονική εκπαίδευση/κοινότητα.

Με στόχο την ανοικτή σχολική εκπαίδευση , οι ερευνητές του ΑΠΚΥ καθοδηγούν τα παρακάτω 5 κυπριακά σχολεία που συμμετέχουν στο έργο για την υλοποίηση των δράσεών του, οι οποίες συνδέονται άμεσα με τους Στόχους Βιώσιμης Ανάπτυξης των Ηνωμένων Εθνών:

• Απεήτειον Γυμνάσιο και Λύκειο Αγρού: Re – use – Re – birth …ahead of waste!
• Λύκειο Εθνομάρτυρα Κυπριανού, Στρόβολος: Urban revival: we go the green way.

• Λύκειο Φώτη Πίττα, Φρέναρος: I study the present I prepare the future
