Hello to the Clean Energy newsletter

On 1 April 2021, the new European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) came to life to support the European Green Deal. CINEA will be home to the rebranded and broadened ‘Clean Energy’ monthly newsletter.

With a budget of around €55 billion for 2021-2027, CINEA will have a key role in supporting the European Green Deal with a focus on creating synergies to support a sustainable, connected, and decarbonised Europe.

CINEA will continue to manage existing projects, including those taken over from the former EASME agency, and start implementing new 2021-2027 programmes delivering on the necessary actions to achieve climate neutrality in Europe by 2050.

CINEA’s ‘Clean Energy’ newsletter formerly known as EASME’s ‘Horizon 2020 Energy Efficiency’ newsletter, will now offer broader content in the area of sustainable energy across seven relevant CINEA programmes:

The H2020 programme, which was the biggest research and innovation programme of the EU, running from 2014 to 2020;

Horizon Europe the EU's new ambitious research and innovation programme for 2021-2027;

LIFE Clean Energy Transition supporting EU policies in the field of sustainable energy;

Innovation Fund one of the world's largest funding programmes for demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies;

The Connecting Europe Facilitysupporting the construction and upgrade of sustainable energy infrastructure projects;

The Just Transition Mechanisma key tool to ensure that the transition towards a climate-neutral economy happens in a fair way, leaving no one behind; and,

The Renewable Energy Financing Mechanism investments in renewable energy projects.

Look out for the programme highlights in their future monthly editions for more information!
Like its predecessor ‘Horizon 2020 Energy Efficiency’ newsletter, the ‘Clean Energy’ newsletter will continue to communicate programme and project news, events, stories and upcoming calls for proposals in the area of sustainable energy but now to a larger sustainable energy community across Europe.

This will help reach out to the growing sustainable energy community in Europe, support synergies between the programmes and will strongly work towards a decarbonised Europe.

If you like to keep informed of all the latest developments, then read the newsletter editions and follow them on Twitter @CleanEnergy_EU and on LinkedIn @CINEA_EU profiles.

They will continue to bring you inspirations to build an energy efficient, renewable energy-based, climate-neutral and resilient Europe together.
