COMPLETION OF THE EUROPEAN PROJECT EMINDS-DEVELOPMENT OF AN ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET IN HIGHER EDUCTION, COORDINATED BY FREDERICK UNIVERSITY CYPRUS
The European project Erasmus+ "Development of an Entrepreneurial MindSet in Higher Education" (EmindS), co-ordinated by the Department of Business Administration, Frederick University Cyprus, has been recently completed with success.
The main goal of the project is the development of the entrepreneurial mentality and way of thinking of the students of Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses. At the heart of the process was the opening of the European Reference Framework - EntreComp which refers to the capacity of doing business and the improvement of entrepreneurship of the citizens and organisations of Europe and the bridging of the gap between education and theoretical training and work. In the European Framework of Reference – EntreComp, entrepreneurship is mentioned as one of the eight key skills and is considered a skill that every European must possess in order to be able to live and survive in Europe.
During the three-year project "Developing Discreet Mind in Higher Education" (EmindS), two educational activities took place, one in Cyprus and one in Slovenia. The trainees had the opportunity to developed skills related to entrepreneurship, such as: how to identify ideas and opportunities, how to manage resources (human, financial, etc.) and how to achieve goals from initiative to cooperation. The project also developed important tools for assessing the entrepreneurial mindset and way of thinking, as well as case studies of business challenges.
Dr. Petroula Mavrikiou, Associate Professor of the Department of Business Administration, Frederick University, Head of the team of the University for the implementation of the EmindS project, noted that "[t]he idea behind the creation of EmindS was to strengthen the spirit of initiative as well as the full development of the skills of our students. One of these skills is the ability of doing business, which according to research is defined as the ability of the individual to turn ideas into actions, producing added value to society as a whole",.
Dr. Nasia Tzortzi, Lecturer in Marketing, Department of Business Administration, and the Mobile Devices Laboratory (MDL) of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics of Frederick University, also participated in the project.
The project was funded by the Cyprus National Agency and the Foundation for the Management of European Programs (IDEP), and lasted three years (2017-2020). Seven partners from five different European countries collaborated on it, while more than 50 academics, educators, students and students worked on its completion.
Except the Frederick University, which coordinated the project, the consortium included the following six partners: FH Joanneum University of Applied Science (Austria), Dimitra Educational Organization (Greece), Industry Disruptors Game Changers (Greece), Mediterranean Management Center (Cyprus), University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia) and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (Finland).

ΟΛΟΚΛΗΡΩΣΗ ΕΡΓΟΥ ΓΙΑ ΤΗΝ ΑΝΑΠΤΥΞΗ ΕΠΙΧΕΙΡΗΜΑΤΙΚΟΥ ΜΥΑΛΟΥ ΣΤΗΝ ΤΡΙΤΟΒΑΘΜΙΑ ΕΚΠΑΙΔΕΥΣΗ ΜΕ ΣΥΝΤΟΝΙΣΤΗ ΤΟ ΠΑΝΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΙΟ FREDERICK
Ολοκληρώθηκε πρόσφατα με επιτυχία το Ευρωπαϊκό Έργο Erasmus+ «Ανάπτυξη Επιχειρηματικού Μυαλού στην Τριτοβάθμια Εκπαίδευση» (Development of an Entrepreneurial MindSet in Higher Education - EmindS), με συντονιστή το Τμήμα Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων του Πανεπιστημίου Frederick.
Στόχος του Έργου ήταν η ανάπτυξη της επιχειρηματικής νοοτροπίας και του επιχειρηματικού τρόπου σκέψης των φοιτητών και φοιτητριών Τριτοβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης (ΤΕ) αλλά και των σπουδαστών και σπουδαστριών Επαγγελματικής Εκπαίδευσης και Κατάρτισης (ΕΕΚ). Βάση του έργου αποτέλεσε το Ευρωπαϊκό Πλαίσιο Αναφοράς - EntreComp το οποίο αναφέρεται στην ικανότητα του επιχειρείν και τη βελτίωση της επιχειρηματικότητας των πολιτών και των οργανισμών της Ευρώπης αλλά και τη γεφύρωση του κενού μεταξύ της εκπαίδευσης και της θεωρητικής κατάρτισης και του κόσμου της εργασίας.
Στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πλαίσιο Αναφοράς - EntreComp η επιχειρηματικότητα αναφέρεται ως μία από τις οκτώ δεξιότητες-κλειδιά και θεωρείται μια δεξιότητα που κάθε Ευρωπαία/ος πρέπει να κατέχει για να μπορεί να ζει και να επιβιώνει στην Ευρώπη.
Κατά τη διάρκεια του τριετούς Έργου «Ανάπτυξη Επιχειρηματικού Μυαλού στην Τριτοβάθμια Εκπαίδευση» (EmindS) πραγματοποιήθηκαν δύο εκπαιδευτικές δραστηριότητες, μία στην Κύπρο και μία στη Σλοβενία. Οι εκπαιδευόμενες/οι είχαν την ευκαιρία να αναπτύξουν δεξιότητες σχετικές με την επιχειρηματικότητα, όπως: πώς να εντοπίζουν ιδέες και ευκαιρίες και να τις αξιοποιούν στο έπακρο, πώς να διαχειρίζονται πόρους (ανθρώπινους, χρηματοοικονομικούς κ.ά.) και πώς να υλοποιούν στόχους - από την ανάληψη πρωτοβουλίας μέχρι τη συνεργασία. Το Έργο ανέπτυξε επίσης σημαντικά εργαλεία αξιολόγησης της επιχειρηματικής νοοτροπίας και τρόπου σκέψης, καθώς και περιπτώσεις μελέτης επιχειρηματικών προκλήσεων.
«Η ιδέα πίσω από τη δημιουργία του EmindSήταν η ενίσχυση του πνεύματος πρωτοβουλίας καθώς και η πλήρης ανάπτυξη των δεξιοτήτων των φοιτητριών και φοιτητών μας. Μια από αυτές τις δεξιότητες είναι και η ικανότητα του επιχειρείν, η οποία σύμφωνα με τις έρευνες ορίζεται ως η ικανότητα του ατόμου να μετατρέπει τις ιδέες σε πράξεις, παράγοντας προστιθέμενη αξία στο κοινωνικό σύνολο», αναφέρει η Δρ Πετρούλα Μαυρίκιου, Αναπληρώτρια Καθηγήτρια του Τμήματος Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων του Πανεπιστημίου Frederick, επικεφαλής της ομάδας του Πανεπιστημίου για την υλοποίηση του Έργου EmindS. Στο έργο συμμετείχαν επίσης η Δρ Νάσια Τζωρτζή, Λέκτορας Μάρκετινγκ του Τμήματος Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων, και το Εργαστήριο Κινητών Συσκευών (MDL) του Τμήματος Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών, Μηχανικών Υπολογιστών και Πληροφορικής του Πανεπιστημίου.
Το Έργο χρηματοδοτήθηκε από τον Εθνικό Φορέα της Κύπρου και το Ίδρυμα Διαχείρισης Ευρωπαϊκών Προγραμμάτων (ΙΔΕΠ), και είχε διάρκεια τρία χρόνια (2017-2020). Σε αυτό συνεργάστηκαν επτά εταίροι από πέντε διαφορετικές ευρωπαϊκές χώρες, ενώ για την ολοκλήρωσή του εργάστηκαν περισσότεροι από 50 ακαδημαϊκοί, εκπαιδεύτριες/ες, φοιτήτριες και φοιτητές.
Εκτός από το Πανεπιστήμιο Frederick, που ήταν και ο συντονιστής του έργου, στην κοινοπραξία συμμετείχαν οι ακόλουθοι έξι εταίροι: FH Joanneum University of Applied Science (Αυστρία), Εκπαιδευτικός Οργανισμός Δήμητρα (Ελλάδα), Industry Disruptors Game Changers (Ελλάδα), Mediterranean Management Center (Κύπρος), University of Nova Gorica (Σλοβενία) και Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (Φινλανδία).
