NICOSIA MUNICIPALITY SUPPORTS AND PROMOTES YUFE HELP DESKS

The University of Cyprus is a member of the YUFE Alliance. The YUFE Alliance aims at bringing local communities and universities closer to each other building together the future of Europe. The Nicosia Municipality, as cooperating body, supports and promotes the actions of the project in its area.

One of the first concrete steps within this framework, promoted by the Alliance are the YUFE Help Desks. In addition to academic development, YUFE aims at increasing cooperation between universities and university cities.

YUFE Help Desks will provide citizens with the opportunity to ask questions on different topics, such as legal issues, entrepreneurial advice, digital tools/applications, economics, studying, language skills etc. Questions will be answered by students of the YUFE universities under the supervision of university staff.

The first Help Desks will be launched in May 2021, and all information on the respective locations and opening hours will be available/posted in early spring 2021 to the citizens’ of YUFE regions. In Cyprus, the Help Desk will be available in Nicosia. Help Desks can be found in the city or on the university campus or run online. At the Help Desks, citizens can ask their questions in Greek or English, and students answering may come from any of the YUFE partner universities.
