On 2-13 November 2020 the Energy, Environment and Water Research Center (EEWRC) of the Cyprus Institute organized jointly with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) an online Training Course on assessing policies for decarbonizing energy systems.
The course involved lectures and presentations of quantitative tools to assess the future evolution of energy demand and the cost-effectiveness of demand-oriented policies, to enable the formulation of national climate strategies in line with the goals adopted in the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.More specifically, the course involved:
The course was attended by over 40 participants from public authorities, academic institutions and research institutes in Central and Eastern Europe. The event was held in the frame of IAEA’s project RER2017 on “Assessing the Role of Low Carbon Energy Technologies for Climate Change Mitigation”.
