MSCA at the European Week of Regions and Cities

The workshop 'Researchers for a Greener Europe' will explore the positive impact of the MSCA on regional policies and sustainability. The event will take place 6 October 2020, 11:30 - 13:00 CET.

The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual event that showcases cities’ and regions’ capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy and build a stronger Europe through good local and regional governance.

Representatives from SMARTI ETN and SAFERUP, two Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) projects relevant to regions and cities in the context of a greener Europe, will briefly present their positive experiences of enabling new generations of highly-skilled professionals. These professionals have gained multidisciplinary and intersectoral exposure and will have a lasting, positive impact on regional policies and sustainability. SMARTI ETN focuses on smart and sustainable transport infrastructure, whilst SAFERUP provides cities with innovative solutions for the future urban paved environment.

A representative from the MSCA project DOC2AMU will explain its strategy for attracting talented researchers to a particular region. The project creates opportunities by stepping up cooperation between key academic and non-academic players, and focusing on regional research and innovation smart specialisation strategies. Attendees (from public and private organisations, academia and beyond) will then discuss how research can contribute to sustainable development – and how to get involved in European programmes for training researchers, such as the MSCA. Conclusions will be shared in a wrap-up session.

To attend the session, you should first register and then add the session to your list (Code: 6WS1337V).

Visit the website of the European Week of Regions and Cities for more information and the full programme.
